Amp

by Amp Inc. (spun out of Sourcegraph) · CLI / terminal, Cloud agent

Amp is a frontier coding agent from the team that built Sourcegraph, now an independent company. It runs in the terminal and on remote 'orbs', and its free Hobby plan lets you use your own keys or ChatGPT/Claude subscriptions with no Amp token fees.

What is Amp?

Amp emphasises multi-threaded agent work, shared team threads and plugins. Remote orbs give agents their own machines, billed per minute when you need them.

It is the recommended successor for former Cody Free/Pro users.
