OpenCode is a free, open-source AI coding agent for the terminal, desktop and IDE that works with 75+ model providers, local models, or your existing GitHub Copilot / ChatGPT subscription.
What is OpenCode?
OpenCode offers a polished terminal UI with LSP integration, multiple parallel sessions on one project and shareable session links. It is model-agnostic: pick any provider per session, run local models, or sign in with Copilot or ChatGPT to use those subscriptions.
The project reports over 200,000 GitHub stars and states that it does not store your code or context data. Optional paid offerings (Zen, Go) provide curated hosted model access.
